Nickel City had some serious shoes to fill, moving into the space of one of Austin’s most beloved neighborhood bars – the historic Longbranch Inn.
This isn’t another fancy whiskey bar or high concept pick-up joint. Nickel City is a neighborhood bar where you can stop after work, say hello to your friends — and cash a paycheck if the bank is already closed for the day. The kind of place your spouse calls looking for you after your “cell phone died”. Nothing too precious, just simple, easy and fun.
The merch program at Nickel City has snowballed into a surprise side hustle. Limited edition hats sell-out before we know it and major liquor distributors collaborate on tee shirt designs. The annually released tiki glasses have become quite the collectors item as well.
After overwhelming success becoming a local favorite in Austin, with several awards added to the trophy case, The Nickel decided to open a second location in Fort Worth.
